real-freelance-jobs.com
identity
- inception: Herve Thevenon (herve at imezio dot com)
- creation: 20 october 2024
mission
- To provide a set of trust-building services for job posters and freelancers as to gradually improve the level of professionalism of the freelancing platforms, and increase actual work opportunities for freelancers.
- These services will include:
- assistance to job posters with designing professional, useful, and helpful briefs for IT freelancers,
- a system of embeddable certificates, that will allow:
- certified jobs to stand out from click-bait projects, and therefore attract more attention from qualified freelancers,
- freelancers to immediately check real-freelance-jobs.com's level of trust on projects displaying the certificate,
- feedback mechanisms to both the posters and the freelancers, as to improve the trust-building process.
motivation
- Back to freelancing, I have quickly come to distrust most platforms:
- most posted jobs lack key information for serious freelancers to start quoting,
- publicly available offers lack key information for serious and decent posters to start hiring.
- All in all, the current state of affair is dislikable:
- for not creating the positive societal opportunities it should create,
- for creating too many opportunities for too many forms of exploitation.
- I am not doing that for the money.
schedule
- Work on this project effectively started on 20 October 2024, with a first iteration of functional services expected ot run by 1 January 2025.
pricing
- I reiterate: I'm not in this for the money. The services will be affordable.
- Job posters must chip in commensurately for the work incurred in improving their briefs.
- Project reviewers will be rewarded. There are many ways to do so.
